Recruit Implementation Case Study

CCP Games, a video game developer and publisher was founded in 1997 in Reykjavik, Iceland. With the launch of EVE Online in 2003, CCP established itself as one of the most innovative companies in interactive entertainment, winning numerous awards and receiving critical acclaim worldwide.

Challenge

As a rapidly growing multi-site company CCP needed to streamline their HR processes and better manage their recruitment.  After reviewing various HRIS vendors they selected Sage People for its scalability, powerful analytics and ability to enable more transparent people management.

In particular, they needed to better manage their recruiting procedure. Sage People’s Recruit has an intuitive applicant tracking system that allows managers to find, filter and manage the whole candidate life cycle – effectively handling the entire recruitment process, from specifying the initial vacancy requirement, right up to the final offer stage. They also liked the way it could assist with advertising positions, tracking applications and getting interview feedback. It also integrates vacancies on websites using one or more Recruit Candidate Portals, plus allows recruitment agencies to submit candidate details in a controlled way through the Recruit Agency Portal.

Once they had purchased Sage People the challenge was to implement Sage People Recruit in an efficient way so that it was embedded properly and correctly integrated.

Solution

As they did not have the capacity or necessary skills or experience in-house they decided to outsource their Sage People Recruit implementation project so it was delivered on schedule and on budget.

They appointed Tugela People to manage the installation of their newly purchased Sage People. Tugela People used their proven 5 step project approach to manage the four-month implementation project working in partnership with the CCP HR team.

The Tugela People team used Prince 2 project management principles to proactively manage the project. This was tracked online in real-time for CCP to monitor and provide input as required.

Outcome

The successful Sage People Recruit implementation project meant that CCP Games’ HR efficiency has improved with the use of Recruit’s various innovative functions (like the automated job postings, requisition management, applicant tracking and the new instant messaging). They now enjoy have more control of their processes and data and have improved the overall experience for candidates.
